How Miles Popped the QUESTION...
Miles planned Christmas Eve dinner for us at the Space Needle. Despite living in Washington our whole lives, and living in Seattle for the last 5 years or so, neither of us had ever been up in the Needle. *Apparently both of us had when we were each about 4 but neither of us remember*
During dinner Miles asked me if it would be easier on my parents if we were engaged when we told them that we were probably moving to Chicago - Miles is going to law school and it is looking like Chicago is going to be the place and we were breaking the news to my parents when we saw them on Christmas - "You didn't buy a ring did you," I responded, adequately scaring Miles for the next few hours.
Miles convinced me that he had not bought a ring and we continued eating...
After dinner we went up to the observation deck to look at our beautiful city. In typical Seattle fashion it was cold and raining. I wanted to go back inside where it was warm but Miles wanted to spend a little more time out on the deck. We hid in a doorway out of the wind and rain at spent a little time admiring the view when I told him I loved him. To which he responded "this much?" with a little box in his hand.
I opened it and in shock the first thing out of my mouth was, "Are you sure?"
