I am teaching at Eckstein Middle School for my student teaching. The first unit that I taught was on measuring and the metric system. Students enjoyed running up and down the stairs to find meric units, finding Fibonaci relationships between their bones, and measuring leaves.

 Students are currently working on a unit on mass, volume, and density. Students are engaged in problem solving a story about killer lakes. Lake Nyos in Africa killed over 1700 people in the 80's and my students are trying to figure out how all these people died and what caused the deaths.
